Internet2

(Spain -  Cartilage rds / Producciones Doradas)

Internet2 is a musical project from Comte d’Urgell art collective in Barcelona. The project started as a woodwind amateur band with 3 players. After few concerts with the woodwind ensemble Carlos Carbonell continued playing alone with a mystical show using a giant cardboard piano he plays with his feet. The show is based on charming dancing, popular music cliches, and some technological-magical tricks.
He has also written a music manifesto about “the world of bands, and why you shouldn’t have a band”.
He is actually preparing a new project called “Music, the musical” which will involve other dancers and singers.

He played at  various gigs including Pompidou Art Center in Paris, Sonar festival, NME parties etc and shared the stage with Keiji Haino, El Guincho, Mahjongg, Bishi...

"Let’s end today with the music that excites me more, music that I fully approve at all levels. With Spanish music! Internet2 is the musical project of Carlos Carbonell, who works with his partner Jordi Ferreiro in the group of art and design Comte D'Urgell. When I wrote in my blog about Internet2, I talked about the originality of his  music and his stage esthetics (!MIDI underwear! Fake documentaries! folk dances!), And described how I felt that his musical spirit was close to mine.
Internet2 is another sign that Spain is producing some of the more interesting and fresh culture of Europe right now,"

Norman Bambi

(France - Ponpoko /  Cartilage rds)

INorman Bambi is the alter ego of Luc Jolivet who is first known as one half of the cult Juicy Panic duo from 2001 (along with japanese artist Mami Chan).
Juicy Panic which will later be renamed Bonjour! made many concerts in Europe & Japan, sharing stage with Blechtum from Blechdom, Max Tundra, Agaskodo Teliverek, Dragibus, Chiku (Tama), Oorutaichi, Applehead, Kishino Yuichi...
Since 2005 he is making a living as a succesfull sound desinger (heavily collaborating with the genuine Friends With You art collective)
In 2007, he published his very first album "West Of Space Adventures" which received enthousiastic press reviews.
The same year he joinded forces & ideas with Gangpol & Mit and Mami Chan to create a musical & visual show for kids: CARTON PARK.

"Norman Bambi is really really gifted, but he doesn’t have time to care about it. Up in his tiny garret at the far end of a field in Normandy, this Franco-British dude piles up bubbly pop marvels. He plays solo as well as with his beloved Mami Chan or with Gangpol Und Mit, but with his 56k modem it’s quite hard for him to spread the news worldwide.
So in his first solo opus, he pretends to go and explore the surroundings of his home: “Basically, it’s about a cowboy who wanna go into space and...you know, things happen”. Accompanied by a whole train of keyboards, a banjo, some beat-boxes stuck on 171BPM, and wild arpeggi, he whimpers, yoddles, funks and raps out a whole bunch of songs. His tunes surprisingly hop from peaceful moments, reminiscent of Albert Marcoeur, to the scat of a cowboy; from a wonderful sweet folk piece with Oly to a good old medieval refrain full of bizarre animal noises. It’s truly great!"

Scarlatti Goes Electro

(France - L'Armée Des Bonbons)

A few years ago, during his harpsichord studies, Antoine Souchav fell in love with Domenico Scarlatti’s virtuoso & obsessional music. At the same time, as a huge fan of early & primitive electronic musics, he began editing and remixing those sonatas along with his partner Michel Banane Jr, and tried to add a modern & concrete touch to those marvellous pieces of 18th century music.

The result could be defined as a series of music miniatures that are spontaneous, always melodic, and sometimes schizophrenic. In his free adaptations of the original scores, he decided to forget about the rubato (slight slackening of tempo) and to give a real importance to instrumental interpretation.

From 2006 to 2008, he toured extensively in France, Belgium, Germany & the Netherlands, going from underground spots to prestigious art centers as the Cité De La Musique.

Patrick Catani said:

"Scarlatti goes Electro is an incredibly talented music duo that produces sounds of a very special kind.
Not only me but also the audiences react in the most happy way when the harpsichord baroque transformations hit the Eardrums.
They are rolling over the classic structures leading to an explosive edge between madness and childish, overeuphoric glam.
You can feel deep respect in their music for the baroque kings laying under the Guillotine while they cut the rope with a big smile on their face"

DJ Arc De Triomphe

(Thailand -  Cartilage rds)

DJ ADT aka Gaspare Balducci is the one behind the  Cartilage label.

Since 2006 he has been organising many gigs in the parisian capital, and released records including a Norman Bambi & Internet2 split record.
He is also responsible for the new kiddies intented parties: Récréations Du Monde and sometimes work as a programmator for venues & festivals.

An oddball music selection which goes from: exotic music oddities both from past and present, creepy disco, bizarre soundtracks, outsider music
and forgotten euro composers...
